So I decided to omit the foot brake entirely and create a dual hydraulic braking system operated by the hand brake lever. A Hillman Imp pedal mount was severely cut down with a balance bar connecting what used to be its’ clutch and brake master cylinders. The drum brakes each had two separate slave cylinders so I could connect the two top ones to one master cylinder and the lower ones to the other. A plastic Hillman split reservoir was mounted in the cockpit (photos c & d). The system worked well, too well!
